The Police Federation for Northern Ireland represents 12,000 Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC) officers, male and female, from Constable to Chief Inspector including 3500 Full Time Reserve Constables and 1,500 Reserve Constables (Part Time). We are a representative body, similar to a Trade Union but without the right to resort to industrial action. 143 representatives are elected tri-annually and 21 of them form the executive body known as the Central Committee.Our statutory remit is 'Welfare and Efficiency.
