IAEH was founded in 1991 to meet the needs of the professional environmental hydrologist, in particular those working in the area of environmental cleanup, restoration, and pollution prevention.

IAEH publishes the Journal of Environmental Hydrology, Hydrology News, and the HydroKit series of hydrology software modeling packages.
