Tuskegee Airmen affected U.S. race relations like few movements in American history, making way for African American pilots and integration of U.S. Armed Forces. Primary information is being released, and not too soon, through books, interviews and documentation, like the historical papers (collected by the University of California, Riverside,) of female WWII Tuskegee Air Base clerk, Maycie Herrington, who became the group's historian and received a Congressional Gold Medal along with surviving Tusketee Airmen.
