Andro is short for the sports supplement androstenedione which was once a legal steroid that was sold on the market for many years prior to it being classified as an anabolic steroid in 2004. The word andro has been used since Mark McGwire used it originally to describe a series of compounds that he used to get really big for his home run winning season.
