In 1953 Clarence Zurcher opened Zurchers Merchandise as a wholesale toy company. Clarence and his son, Robert (Bob) Zurcher, sold their toys to various grocery and convenience stores throughout Idaho, Oregon, and Nevada. In 1983, Bob converted part of the Zurchers Merchandise warehouse in Boise, Idaho into the first Zurchers Party and Wedding Store.
