The Study Group is a non-profit research and advocacy organization founded in 1989, focusing on nuclear disarmament, nonproliferation, and environmental protection. We conduct in-depth research regarding the environmental, economic and social consequences of nuclear weapons design and production. We monitor specific U.S. weapons projects. The Study Group serves as an information clearinghouse for the news media, Congress, activists, academics and the general public.

With the downloadable computer program Nukefix you can simulate the consequences of proliferation, the START II treaty, deterrence, simultaneous nuclear detonations, and more. Nukefix makes it possible to assess and reduce the probability of a nuclear weapons use.
