Welcome to the Vasa Order of America.
Founded as a Swedish-American fraternal society, now open to all of Scandinavian descent. The purpose of the organization is to preserve the culture, heritage and ideals of the Scandinavian people. There are local lodges in the United States, Canada and Sweden. Most lodges meet monthly and organize, promote or participate in events or programs of interest to the Scandinavian-American community. Festivals, Smorgasbord, Folk Dance (by both adult and children), Music, and observance of special holidays are among the activities of the group. Governed by regional districts, 15 in the US, 2 in Canada and 2 in Sweden. A Grand Lodge that meets every fourth year to consider constitutional issues and set policy governs the districts. Membership at the governing levels is elected from delegations from the nearly 300 local lodges.
