U.S. National Oceanographic Data Center
The National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC) is one of three discipline-oriented environmental data centers operated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). NODC ensures that oceanographic data collected at great cost (by federal, state, local, foreign government agencies, universities, and private industry) is preserved and maintained in a permanent archive where they are available for use by scientists, resource managers, planners, and others. NODC holds physical, chemical, and biological oceanographic data from coastal and deep ocean areas.
