CRYOLIFE was established in 1996 by a group of four founding partners who believed in the potential of stem cell therapy in reparative and regenerative medicine. Encouraged by the proliferation of successful cord blood transplants in the US, our founders decided to introduce the concept of saving cord blood to the local community.

The Alberta Cord Blood Bank is a non-profit organization dedicated to the collection and preservation of umbilical cord blood stem cells for public use. Although located in Alberta, the Bank is national in scope and collects donated waste umbilical cord blood samples from coast to coast in Canada.
