CFB Esquimalt Naval & Military Museum Home Page
The CFB Esquimalt Naval and Military Museum exhibits artifacts related to the navalmilitary history of Canada. The museum is located in Naden on Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Esquimalt near the city of Victoria at the southern end of Vancouver Island on the West Coast of Canada. The museum's exhibits focus on three distinct military groups who have made an impact upon Canada's history and who have left a lasting heritage for Canadians: the Canadian Women's Army Corps (CWAC), the Royal Canadian Navy on the West Coast, and the West Coast Defences -- a string of defensive gun emplacements and lookouts on the coast of Vancouver Island that served as a first line of defence for approximately a century. In addition to the exhibits, the museum houses an ever-expanding archive and library that is open to teachers, researchers, and history-buffs alike.
